Abstract: Does the world embody beautiful ideas? Pythagoras and Plato intuited that it should; Newton and Maxwell demonstrated how it could. But modern physics, and especially the quantum physics at its foundation, answers with a much more resounding and definitive “Yes!”

Biography

Frank Wilczek is Herman Feshbach Professor of Physics at MIT . He has made foundational contributions to several areas of theoretical physics. His work has been recognized with many honors, including the Nobel Prize in 2004. He has written and lectured extensively for non-specialist audiences, and won prizes for that too.
