Abstract: | This tutorial will describe the basic steps of the construction of shape spaces via the action of diffeomorphic transformations. We will discuss how right-invariant distances and Riemannian metrics can be projected onto distances or metrics on shape spaces, and review how they can be built in a computational framework. We will then discuss particular cases, with a special focus on point sets, and show applications of this framework to registration problems and data analysis in shape spaces. |
