| Abstract: | Modern Kalmyk art is in a difficult situation. Since leadership does not support art, artists leave Kalmykia where it is very difficult to make a career.
Mergen says that all Kalmyks should clear their heads and improve the local economy. Without state support, artists will not be able to exist and art will perish. |
