About this item
Description: |
Vasiliy talks about a ritual performed by fishermen before going fishing:
On the shores we kill a sacrificial sheep. The head of the sheep is put on a raft made from the vine bush and sent to drift on the water. During the ritual people pray so that they have a good catch. After that people go fishing. Before throwing the nets, the fishermen toss white coins into the water. |
