Description: Since the start of the economic crisis, a growing number of Italian young people have been leaving Italy for more prosperous areas of the Union, often with the UK as their destination. The project Picturing Identities was a Cambridge-based investigation of these young people and their identities: what are their experiences, and what does it mean for them to be migrants? Photography had a key role in this visual research project, which also involved the collection of photographic portraits of the participants. To coincide with the seminar, an exhibition of the portraits will be in the Wolfson Library Foyer from February 1st to February 8th.
